We began this journey through environmentally conscious shoe production years ago with an idea to create the most sustainable product possible, with as little impact on the earth as possible. Kengos was developed through our passion to do right for the planet and future generations to pass along the skills and techniques that we have learn along the way.
Kengos was founded in 2019 to create the world's most sustainable shoes. This mission comes to life through a 4 part philosophy we call “The Kengos Way":

Eco-Friendly Shoe Laces
We take pride in using sustainable materials in our products. Currently, our white shoe laces are crafted from Amaize corn knit material, aligning perfectly with our eco-friendly vision. However, we want to bring the same level of sustainability to our colored shoe laces. Due to Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) requirements in the dyeing process, we've had to use a polyester blend. But we are committed to finding a solution that allows us to use Amaize knit material for our colored laces, just like our white ones.
Sustainable Uppers for Knitted Shoes
Our journey to sustainable practices doesn't end with laces. Our knitted shoe uppers have also presented challenges during the gying process. We aim to use vegetable-based color dyes to meet our sustainability goals, but MOQ requirements have been a hurdle. To address this, we've adopted a Poly blend for the exterior of our colored knitted shoes while keeping the eucalyptus material on the inside. Our ongoing research and development efforts are focused on finding eco-friendly solutions that will help us extend our sustainability practices to our colored, knitted shoes, maintaining our commitment to making a positive impact.
